The Living Room Stage presents HOME For The Holidays
See the original post here.
The ninth edition of this event series brings two of Canada’s finest purveyors of the funk together: vinyl ambassadors, skate thrashers and all around top brass chaps.
Vinyl Ritchie: The undisputed 45 king and funk grandaddy of the west coast has been a fixture of the Shambhala Music Festival since the early days, playing resident slots every year in the Fractal Forest and on the Beach. This guy hasn’t stopped buying records since the day he began and his passion for finding the rarest gems is evident in his genre hopping sets.
The Gaff: Another Canadian legend that has been making regular appearances on the west coast as of recent and another Sham favorite, he is well versed in the dirty fingers and dusty grooves of digging culture and vinyl hoarding. He has earned himself a seat as a knight of the sound table with a few select turntablists as one of the great scratch DJs of our time. If you haven’t seen him scratch a 45 at the fractal funk jam you just might wanna make a point to see that with your own eyes. He has also just played alongside DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist on their Renegades of Sound / Afrika Bambaataa record tour.
These boys are ready to rock their first and well over due HॐME show at the Electric Owl Social Club on December 27th alongside everyone’s favorite discofarian, Mike Hoolaof The Pride.
